My wife did a 2 mile run on December 31st to complete 1000 miles for 2017.

I might give it a try this year.

    Excellent ,good on her.

I think that's the whole point for me.

It's not about who can complete 1000 miles first.
It's about doing it, a year is a long time, and anything can happen, doing this challenge is about being focus as I've got no other goals this year, mainly because I work most weekends.

Yeah you can do it. Come on Carlp! I've signed up for the Trail Running Magazine one this year. I'm hoping for 100/month but let's be realistic!

‘spose it could be doable, I’ve run 17.3 miles in the last 7 days.

Nah. To much commitment for me.

1000 miles is a really nice yearly running goal - its a good round number and achievable by most people providing they're consistently doing 4 runs a week most weeks.

Unfortunately I’ve fell short of my target, 18.5 miles total for this week 1.
But feeling positive about this challenge.

Busy week so didn’t get out as much as planned.

Still, 14 days in and 64km, or 39.8 miles, done so not far off schedule. Not sure I’ll keep up this pace though when marathon training stops

I can't even see me managing 1000km this year. 11km so far this year

Not one for any of the challenges on Strava but I was planning on completing the 1000 miles last year, but at the end of August with about 660 miles done I got hit with issues in my Achilles which put me off out of action for a month. Just after just getting back into it in mid Sept when I ended up in the local cardiac care ward with a heart attack, got myself stented and started on my rehab and finished the year on 767 miles.

    Must do better this year....
